AllMusic Review by

Though no one will ever accuse them of being original or iconoclasts, Yokohama's Havenots play superfast, Ramones-inspired punk rock with more whomp than most of the hundreds of other bands playing the same sort of music. Lead singer and guitarist Matt pulls off more-than-credible rockabilly-style solos, while Tom's drumming is thunderous like the Mummies. Vocally, Matt spits out ridiculousness that you can't make heads or tails of except for the titles, which include "I'm Just Modernist" and "Shit Tonight." Sounding like it was recorded under someone's bed with a waffle iron, their self-titled debut album includes a particularly raging, Germs-type punk number, "Leave It Alone," as well as a couple of poppy, Queers-style tunes like "Fun Summer" and "Love Affair." With no shortage of Japanese bands that sound like the Havenots, they need to do something more to distinguish themselves, but are far from generic.
