This Austin, TX, indie pop quartet crafts songs that are both melancholy and extremely catchy. The band's sparse, steady drumming and shimmering guitars and keyboards blend in an unusually pleasing mix, while the lyrics are delivered with a mixture of resignation and wonder. The four songs on the Goodbye EP are prime examples of the band's style; the three originals feature simple, hum-along melodies and jangling guitar hooks, while the cover of New Order's "Run" sees the band wearing its moody, introspective influences clearly on its sleeve. This brief album is sure to appeal to fans of both indie rock and emocore, and to just about everyone else as well.
