AllMusic Review by

McNeely's score for this here-today-gone-tomorrow juvenile adventure is a cheerful stew of adventure movie music clich├ęs, with grand stretches of pomp and circumstance, enthusiastic crescendoes meant to accompany grand vistas, fanfares and all that good stirring stuff that we've heard in the past from the pens of composers such as John Williams, Bruce Broughton and James Horner. The music is entertaining enough, though unlikely to stick in the mind for very long, with the orchestrations making good use of what seems to be a fairly small ensemble; the recording quality is fine, without daring to be more than adequate. "The Flying Song," performed by Colin Hay, closes off the album.
