AllMusic Review by

Originally released in Japan shortly before the collapse of Nude records, Gloss' debut was a warm, spacious, almost effortless gesture of crisp indie pop. It had little to say, to be sure, all cooing stories of girl meets boy and the standard clichés, but the music was flushed with high spirit and stocked with incredibly charming self-harmony, like a less forced Catatonia or Saint Etienne, or, as in the delightful "My Heart Belongs to You," Björk fronting the Sundays. Strangely paced, sometimes too precious for its own good, and certainly unfashionable at the time, the album was, in the good sense of the phrase, a welcome piece of emotional sunshine.
