Ani Cordero's haunting pop appeal stems from her hybrid of drowning guitars and a wall of '80s synthesizers. Although remaining pleasant at the same time, Girl-Child-Sprit is an ode to the late-'80s/ early-'90s presence of P.J. Harvey, Curve, and My Bloody Valentine. On top of the breathy vocals and occasional collaborations of male/female harmonies, both sides contribute a beautifully flowing sound of personable dream pop.
