The sophomore release from Chris Brown and Kate Fenner lacks the experimentation and rawness of their first album, Other People's Heavens. There are a few great tracks -- "Mountain," "My Love Is Not Waiting," and "Morning Song" all showcase Fenner's incredible vocals. However, most of the songs were written while Brown was on tour as the keyboard player for Barenaked Ladies, and it shows. The album lacks the depth that made their previous effort so memorable; the lyrics are often banal, and the subject matter of the songs not nearly as thought-provoking as on Other People's Heavens. Superb musicianship and beautiful vocals are the record's only saving graces.
