While he worked as a singer, actor, musician, and dancer (the latter with enough skill to earn the nickname "Mr. Motion"), Jimmy Lynch enjoyed his greatest success as a stand-up comic, developing a character he called "the Funky Tramp" who dressed in shabby, mismatched clothes and swaggered about the club as he told tall tales of sex, race, and life in the ghetto. Lynch cut a handful of "party" albums documenting his deliberately rude humor, and Funky & Funny: Tramp Time, Vol. 4 captures the sound of Lynch on-stage with his band, moving and grooving and talking trash as the funky tramp cracks jokes, banters with the audience, does impressions, and generally tells it like it is. Funky & Funny is not intended for airplay and is recommended for mature listeners only.
