With his smooth, romantic style, Alabama crooner Sir Charles Jones spent the first few years of the 21st century establishing a reputation as the "King of Southern Soul." In a decidedly niche-market genre, his 2001 album, LOVE MACHINE, was a runaway success. The collection FOR YOUR LOVE features some of Jones's finest moments, and makes it clear that the man who learned his trade from soul star Marvin Sease has put a patent on his own brand of Southern soul, with a velvety voice delivering tender but undeniable messages of love atop often sparse arrangements.
