Opening with "Virus Panic," a soundalike to their 1990 single "Magic Blue Case," Lä-Ppisch seem to be treading water in their fifth full release, but as the album moves on past some noisy opening volleys, some fine songs reveal themselves. "Procession March" melds Okinawa and Irish jigs together in one of the band's most idiosyncratic songs (whether or not they'd been listening to Soul Flower Union is debatable). "Haru Ichiban" sways through a funky reggae jam; "Boku Ni Tameni" is reminiscent of Fun Boy Three in its grey mood; and "Sakura Sakura" is like early Police in places.
