Feeling Alright

Although he's still getting his sea legs as a leader, Jerry Medina's Feeling Alright is a promising debut album from the trumpeter/vocalist. Most of the record is rooted in Latin jazz, but he also takes detours into straight Latin dances, like rumba and guaguanco, which only demonstrate what a versatile musician he is. On the whole, Medina is a better trumpeter than vocalist, but there's a certain charm to his vocals -- and to all of Feeling Alright, actually.
