It's been said before that the Fat Wreck Chord sampler compilation is more of a brilliant marketing scheme than an official Fat release; especially when these records were given away for free or available at an inexpensive price. And proving that this method has increased their sales year after year, another Fat Music compilation is released for the fifth time around, this time with exclusive unreleased material rather than a cut-and-paste package of recycled material. As a result, there's something for everyone here: from the melodic pop-punk (No Use for a Name, Me First & the Gimme Gimmes, NOFX) to hardcore (Sick of It All, Rise Against) to a number of bands who matured from that "Fat Wreck Chord" sound to a style of their own (Propaghandi, Good Riddance, Lagwagon). Definitely something for those who either want that new song from their favorite Fat band, or for those who want to discover something new.
