AllMusic Review by

On the budget Pickwick label, Excitement of International Percussion seems an unlikely prospect for a good album combining both exotic mood and the ironic "space-age pop" fascination with quirky stereo effects. But with its brooding woodwinds, perky bongos, organ, and harpsichord -- in stereo -- it can hardly fail. Surefire warhorses "Hawaiian War Chant, " "Hava Nagilah, " "Poor People of Paris, " and "Loch Lomond" succeed.
