AllMusic Review by

El Mundo de Milan Latino is an exhaustive (if not exhausting, at 74:00 even) overview of the Milan Latino imprint, a seventeen-song CD sampler of the label's best artists and music, with liner notes about the CD each track is drawn from presented in both English and Spanish. As with most anthologies, El Mundo is a mixed bag, though one which consistently provides more hits ("No Me Amenaces," a rolling piano blues from Betsy Pecanins, "Midnight Theme," from Cuban pianist Frank Emilio Flynn and percussionist Miguel Anga, "Fantasma," from the percussion-driven orchestra La Barriada, and of course an appearance by the father of the modern tango, Astor Piazzolla) than misses. Just in terms of its sheer scope, El Mundo de Milan Latino must be one of most comprehensive introductions to modern Cuban music ever.
