Any single that pairs the gritty, punishing Jawbox with the much improved, more streamlined Superchunk is worth picking up. The latter's "Basement Life" is the sort of big chorus late-'80s Dischord punk bands used to effortlessly deliver, and the playing is superb, while the former's "Lowstrung" is a typical hammer job. This also features the not-bad, foul-mouthed Guzzard ("Bite") and the overloaded Godheadsilo ("Lotion Pocket").
