AllMusic Review by

It's hard to say what the point of this LP is. This local duo has amazingly abstract ideas, constructs patterns, waves, and rhythms that don't often add up to songs ("Tangle" is a too-rare exception), favor near-monotone spoken word, and have a vaguely African feel on some songs, shimmering folk on others, and a space-age white noise aspect on the rest. At times, it's almost like conceptual art theater, like the annoyed, bickering couple on "How Could You Like That Movie?" On the one hand, it's refreshing, a reminder that "music" can be any careful collage of sound, as even Beatles fans discovered on "Revolution #9." But though I never skip that White Album track, I wouldn't often listen to a whole LP of it, either. If this pair have more like "Tangle" up their sleeves, however, they could rise. (P.O.
