Discotheque marks Beaumont's first release after the dazzling This Is Beaumont. The band's sophisticated brand of indie pop continued to wow on this disc with the groovy opening dance track, followed by an impressive cover of Burt Bacharach's "Look of Love." The third track is the group's attempt at offbeat humor. A spacy remix of the title song rounds out the disc. Led by ex-Blueboy members Keith Girdler and Paul Stewart, this a la carte EP continues to remind listeners of New Order and Pet Shop Boys, but with each release, Beaumont makes a name of its own, inspiring a new generation of indie poppers. Sadly, this release marked the end of the band.
