More than 20 years after releasing his first album, Sakamoto premiered his very first classical work, though the components of this enhanced CD include turntables and guitar, as well as the obligatory orchestra and piano. The theme seeks to reflect the contemporary difficulties between reconciling a digital-quick information age with the reality of suffering in much of the Third World, and Sakamoto does a good job of contrasting modern musical tools with traditional instruments. [The remix edition of this album features different mixes of the four tracks featured on the original edition -- "Grief," "Anger," "Prayer," and "Salvation" -- remixed by such producers as Ashley Beedle, Andrea Parker, and Pan Sonic.]
