Destroy is a bit cleaner and more focused than some of Chevy Heston's other releases (insofar as a band like this can ever get clean or focused). The record rocks and races through a somewhat unsettling and intentionally offensive concept about high school students, sex, and drugs, with tracks like "Cock Trophy Finalist" getting the band's tinny pop blast down pat, and others ripping through gritty, primitive rock or odd, fractured drawls with a decent amount of appeal. The result is as fractured and multi-dimensional as any of Chevy Heston's releases, but musically -- that is, aside from the lyrical concept -- it's a tiny, tiny bit more accessible than releases like Come to Sterilized.
