In 2000, PMT (aka Will Brunner) had the honor of having "Deeper Water" chosen to be the first release for the then-fledgling Acetate Ltd label. The song's harsh and precise collage of breaks led to Britain's Muzik magazine naming it Single of the Month and the surrounding success put Brunner in the position to let loose his beat-beast follow-up, "Gyromancer," upon many a DJ's record bag. Acetate Ltd re-released "Deeper Water" a year later as an attempt to maintain the momentum, tacking on new remixes by progressive luminary Sander Kleinenberg and breakbeat illusionists Koma & Bones. Kleinenberg's "Caffeine" remix maintained the dark allure of the original rendition but minimized the breaks, whereas Koma & Bones took the song to the proximity of atmospheric drum'n'bass. Neither of which as it turned out, surpassed the first-rate staccato Wookie Slut remix found on each and every release.
