AllMusic Review by

Born from an initial meeting over a two-week U.S. tour in 2002 and a subsequent frenzy of file swapping over the Internet's expansive ether, brain-dancing veteran Chris Jeffs rubs up the sequences of Finnish producer Aleksi Perala in this intriguing sound clash. The contrasting directions of the pair result in an interesting eight tracks, with Cylobotnia a place where the rounded gongs and tones of the former collide with the latter's predilection for swollen electronics. This being a Rephlex album of course, disconcerting string effects and grumbling acidics are also present in abundance, with "More Fake Acoustics" sure to prick up the ears of those who favor their orchestration strung out, their gamelan slightly dented, and their techno just a little demented.
