Like the songs on its predecessor, 2000, these environmentally minded tunes were written for a series of German TV specials about the world's vanishing wilderness. However, don't expect mournful dirges--Cusco's exuberant world fusion pulses with life. Keyboard duo Mike Holm and Kristian Schulze enrich their usual blend of synth sounds with woodwinds and strings (courtesy of the Munich Natural Sounds Ensemble) and sweet pan flutes, resulting in an epic sound suitable for film. While 2000 featured songs inspired by various parts of the globe, 2002 focuses on the aboriginal experience, with compelling tracks like "Australia," "Didjeridoo," and "Ancient People."
