AllMusic Review by

Aquarela Carioca, an instrumental group formed by very good instrumentalists, brings to this album a conception of the Brazilian kaleidoscope. Over a Brazilian rhythmic impulse given by Marcos Suzano's pandeiro are overdriven guitars, Arab-like chanting, Indian sitars, cello harmonic attacks, soprano sax lines, and samplers. There is a wealth of percussion instruments and styles, including Indian ones, on an instrumental album that refuses to be pop or commercial, in spite of including the old Led Zeppelin classic "Kashmir." But it is not an improvisational album also, mainly consisting of sketches or atmospheres. It fits well in the category instrumental world music.
