This Jack Teagarden set is three discs containing a total of 48 tracks, covering a period from Nov. 27, 1928 ("Whoopee Stomp") to July 23, 1940 ("Shi-Me-Sha-Wabble"). The only real gaps are between mid-1936 to mid-1939, a Paul Whiteman period (Decca and RCA) and considering what usually surrounded his work with this orchestra, their exclusion is of little loss. There are some cornball tracks in the Teagarden set, but not the music from Teagarden's horn. The individuals making up the discography of these sides reads like a Who's Who of Chicago jazz.
