AllMusic Review by

For her fourth album, Japanese reggae singer lecca put together a wider variety of sound than on her previous works. City Caravan includes pieces from around the world of reggae as usual, but also delves into additional styles. She finds straightforward dancehall beats in the entirely danceable "Circuit Bus" and enlists Soul'd Out's Diggy Mo for the uptempo "Belle Epoque." She takes a variety of approaches to the title track, trying out a soft ballad version in "City Caravan II," trying out acoustic vocal renditions in a pair of "City Caravan III" tracks, delving into Cheb Mami-styled North African sound in the pure title track "City Caravan." There's a lot of sound variety here, and lecca does her best to keep up with all of the ideas.
