A truly lovely performance from the late pianist. Chopin's music is often the music of air and grace, but much of it is filled with darkness, a foreboding texture that presaged the composer's death at the age of 39. Wasowski draws out both the elegance and the shadows with a delicate touch, refusing to force the tempos and allowing the music to breathe in a way that few pianists since Van Cliburn seem to have achieved. A perfect element of a Chopin library.
