AllMusic Review by

The soundtrack to Eddie Murphy's Mr. Mom-esque comedy Daddy Day Care features an equally cutie-pie soundtrack, collecting some of pop and rock's happiest and silliest-sounding singles, including Katrina & the Waves' "Walkin' on Sunshine," Carl Douglas' "Kung Fu Fighting," and Harry Nilsson's "Coconut." The album also features not one, but two songs from the Jackson 5, "I Want You Back" and "ABC," as well as Cheap Trick's "Surrender," Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz," and the Ramones' "I Wanna Be Sedated," which seems like kind of an odd choice, but the song's bouncy quality makes it a better fit than might be expected. It's not a revolutionary or cutting-edge album, but, like the movie it supports, Daddy Day Care is a crowd-pleasing collection of music.
