AllMusic Review by

Boom Boom + 3 was the Animals' third French EP, and it appeared soon after their debut Gallic long-player was released (titled The Story of Bo Diddley and issued as FPX 289, but essentially their first U.K. album reshuffled slightly). This EP rocked with the pounding John Lee Hooker cover title track and the band original "Club-A-GoGo" driving its first side. The second side opened more in the realm of pop-soul with the hit single side "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" and closed with the raw Bo Diddley cover "Roadrunner," which showcased Hilton Valentine's prowess on some slide pyrotechnics, as much as Alan Price's organ.
