While John Delafose & the Eunice Playboys are zydeco's finest traditional band, they're also gifted at doing blues and R&B hybrids. They find a comfortable middle ground on this release, mixing modern numbers like the title track, "Make Me Yours," and "Don't You Leave Me" with such vintage tracks as "Old Time Two Step," "Oh 'Tit Fille," and "Mamou Two Step." Delafose and his son, Geno, alternate lead vocals and accordion support, with John having the stronger, more authoritative voice, but Geno steadily gaining in experience, depth, and intensity. The band offers everything from swaying waltzes to brisk two-steps and hard-hitting blues/R&B, all done with passion and distinction.
