Lansing, Michigan, has always been a hot bed for folk and country. Over the last few years many great eclectic artists have spawned from the capitol city. Some artists have included the Clutters, Joel Mabus, the Lash, and more recently Steppin in It. But one band that will definitely not go ignored is the Weepers. Coming from all backgrounds of music, the Weepers are seasoned veterans. Leader Drew Howard has been a musical veteran for some years now, and the Weepers is his newest undertaking. Drummer Pat Bills has been cracking collective drum heads in punk bands for years. Merging in brokenhearted waters is the name of the game now. The Weepers have everything you've come to expect from a twang band. Guitar, drums, violin, and, of course, the steel pedal guitar. Ten fresh tunes of country tinged anthems complete with typical lyrical content. The only complaint is the recurring themes of loves lost, back home, and plenty o' drinking. But what else are you going to sing about? The corporate takeover or the new web site you started? Tears in your beer indeed. At the pace this genre of music is blowing up, it may even be tears in your espresso.
