A mightily disappointing budget-priced compilation, Big Audio Dynamite I & II sounds like it was programmed by throwing darts at a list of Big Audio Dynamite songs until any random ten of them were hit. On the upside, it does have the two half-decent songs from 1991's The Globe, rendering its purchase unnecessary, but for some reason 1985's This Is Big Audio Dynamite is almost completely overlooked, meaning that college radio favorites like "Medicine Show," "E=MC2," and "The Bottom Line" are missing, and far too much weight is given to 1988's weak, unfocused Tighten Up, Vol. 88, with nearly half of the ten tracks coming from that album while still somehow managing to miss its two relative standouts, "Applecart" and "Just Play Music." There is really no logical reason for this compilation to exist.
