"The Best of Sy Oliver" is more like it, since this budget-priced LP compilation consists mostly of Tommy Dorsey recordings of tunes written and/or arranged by Oliver. There are some major Dorsey hits, notably "Song of India" and "Opus One," included, and some swinging Oliver pieces. The title, of course, is ludicrous; the packaging is skimpy; the credits are non-existent; and even what print there is on the album cover is sometimes wrong ("Well, Git It!" is rendered as "We'll Git It"). But there is some swinging music in the grooves. Not much, but some.
