With his smooth, restrained vocals and a piano style to match, Nat King Cole was the very embellishment of cool. Burying his R&B and gospel roots, he brought an unsaid intimacy to everything he touched, and with his easy jazz/lite swing, his canon is unlike any in pop music. This brief set, although it includes the classics "Unforgettable," "Mona Lisa," and "It's Only a Paper Moon," is simply too short to be anything but a drive-by look at this incredible performer.
