OK, sometimes these guys tried too hard, particularly with their over the top psychedelic art albums Of Cabbages and Kings (1967) and The Ark (1968), but when they stuck to what they did best, which was sing soft, sweet love songs, Chad & Jeremy were really pretty good at that. This 12-track set collects the best of the duo's mid-'60s material prior to the artful sequences listed above, which means you get "Yesterday's Gone," "A Summer Song," Lennon & McCartney's "From a Window," and "Willow Weep for Me," among others, which feature Chad & Jeremy singing soft and sweet. That's what they did best, and that's what you want, and the bare-bones essentials are here.
