The follow-up to 2015's Routine Breathing, Beautiful Death arrives after a period of personal and professional tumult for the Sacramento-based post-hardcore/R&B outfit that saw Slaves calling it quits after a concert in Santa Cruz. Despite all of the hardships -- illness and label woes were also to blame -- the band managed to put all of the pieces back together and deliver an emotionally charged set of all-new material, with highlights arriving via the singles "True Colors," "I'd Rather See Your Star Explode," and "Patience Is the Virtue."
