Former child star Shirley Temple was the main voice talent in this project, which no doubt was an attempt to cash in on the success of the Walt Disney film Bambi. The first side works rather well for presenting a shortened narration of the Disney version of the story, using both sound effects and music from the actual soundtrack but allowing Ms. Temple to take care of voices and narrative continuity. Children will age out of the flip side at around three; it is a cutesy-cutesy trip to the zoo divided up into a half-dozen songs that were whipped up by a hack pop songwriting team. In fact, they might actually have had to be whipped, literally, in order to come up with such forgettable drivel.
