The Violents celebrated the release of their second record, 2004's Baby EP, by breaking up. In the years since their first record, 2001's Rebecca's Morning Voice, the trio have gotten better at their instruments and sound here like a competent, fully operational indie rock band. The little bit of innocent charm that is lost because of this is made up for with a set of more memorable songs. The skittering "Yer Type" and the sassy "Yer Lovely" lead the pack with the moody "Lil' Foxy" not far behind. Riot Grrrl may be far behind us but the sound of women playing together in rock bands will never get old.
