In the big bluegrass music boom of the early and mid-'70s, Hickory Wind came out with At the Wednesday Night Waltz. Using mostly traditional tunes alongside a few originals as well as a cover or two of contemporary songs, Hickory Wind perform a cross-reference of sounds and styles. From the Scottish "The Flowers of Edinburgh" to the very ancient traditional "The Cuckoo" to the cover of "Goin' Back," these five fine musicians prove that they are more than just a flash in the pan. Very educational and well worth seeking out, At the Wednesday Night Waltz is a fine product of a versatile band.
