Another True Fiction

Jeremy Toback had his greatest exposure as a member of Brad, but his best work was always reserved (consciously or not) for his solo recordings, which were simultaneously clearer and more introspective than his writing with Brad, even if it was no great musical departure. His third solo album, Another True Fiction, is of piece with his previous solo efforts, yet it has a fuller production and his songwriting has grown sharper and more adventurous. He still stumbles on occasion, usually by trying to achieve too much at once, but ultimately Another True Fiction is his finest album to date.
