Vicente Barreto's compositions are more widely known than he is. Partner of Tom Zé (ex. Hein), Celso Viáfora (ex. Beira do infinito), J. C. Costa Netto (ex. Toada da lua), and Alceu Valença (ex. Tropicana), Barreto is also a good violonista (could have been better explored in the album) and singer in the pop-Bahian line. This album has some good melodies and exciting grooves, but the inexpensive production focused a bit too much in cheesy keyboards. A more visceral, percussive approach would result in more interesting music, but the album as it is can be interesting for pop fans.
