The second single from Paradyning is also one of the album's highlights, with a fantastic electric lead from Altana and a fine Burgess lyric and performance, perfectly balancing the combination of hope and melancholy that has so often characterized his work. Guest musician Harry Horse adds some banjo as well, which fits perfectly into the confident flow of the music. "Stephanie Weaves" is an energetic little thrasher, with some solid Altana electric work and a brisk clip throughout. A quiet instrumental break midway through adds just that perfect touch of further drama. In an interesting parallel to the Sin EP, the closing song is once again a Sparks cover, their glam-era nugget "Something for the Girl With Everything." Burgess here does try at a little of Russell Mael's hyperfalsetto, and while he can't hope to equal it, his work and the faithful arrangement of the music do have a good energy to them.
