AllMusic Review by

Being at the severe discount level (so cheap, they don't know who the band is), this two-disc set of Mexican standards is relatively good. All of the necessary ones are present -- "La Cucaracha," "Jarabe Mexicano," "Volver Volver," etc. The musicians are also decently good at what they're doing, though the complete lack of liner notes or identification of any kind makes it rather hard to find out anything about who they might be. Despite this, the music isn't bad. For a ridiculously cheap look into the basics of Mexican music -- the horns, the marimbas, the unbreaking drum patterns -- check out this album; it's worth a shot. Granted, the music sounds very similar to the mariachi band at any local high-end Mexican restaurant, but the restaurant bands can't keep going for two hours.
