Iowa City's old-timey string band, Acoustic Mayhem, returns with another twangy, fast-pickin', toe-tappin' good time. From the old bluegrass tune "Crow Black Chicken" to the bilingual Cajun "Jolie Blonde," from "La Bastringue" to "Sally Goodin," they are indeed All Over the Lot. They have a fun time with the very silly "Horse Named Bill," and children will love that one. There's talkin' blues-style humor on "My Little Home (By Parking Ramp)." Or relax to the gently melodious "Original Rag." It's also nice to know that Acoustic Mayhem does school residencies, encouraging new generations of musicians to learn about stringed instruments and songwriting. So for genuine old-fashioned fun, stop by http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/16/acoustic_mayhem.html or http://zeus.ia.net/~mayhem/ and grab a copy of All Over the Lot. Definitely recommended for string band fans, and anybody who likes to sing along.
