Albert Productions has played an important role in Australian rock, particularly by recording the Easybeats and providing an outlet for the productions of Harry Vanda and George Young. This 16-song compilation of Albert-related odds and ends from the 1960s and 1970s, however, does little to argue a case for monumental significance. The better tracks (by the Easybeats, the Throb, and Bobby & Laurie) have shown up on other reissues; interspersed are lame-o pop and hard rock tunes (John Paul Young and AC/DC, natch, are also represented). Vanda-Young fans will want to note the presence of "Natural Man," recorded by the Marcus Hook Band, which were Vanda and Young in all but name, and has a strong Easybeats flavor.
