For their third release on Main Street, the Basic Channel begins to move away from an apparent house sound, more toward the sort of driving dub rhythms featured on their late Maurizio records. The new addition of Tikiman, of course, brings a blatant Jamaican dub motif, and the Berlin duo furthers this motif by running these vocals through various reverb effects. The rhythm still bumps with a house-like 4/4 syncopation, but the nautical sounds that accompany the bassline further allude to the sounds of dub. The instrumental B-side very well could be a Maurizio track if only the tempo was dropped a bit and the syncopation was less rigid.
