Acoustic Guitar Moods is a budget-priced collection of instrumental ballads centered around the gentle plucks of the titular instrument. Unfortunately, the collection routinely drowns out the guitar with layer upon layer of sappy, synthesized piano and drums. The album opens with "Blue Eyes" and "Unforgettable," both of which are dominated by piano and saxophone. Fortunately, tasteful renditions of "The Rose" and "The Wind Beneath My Wings" live up to the collection's title. "The Rose" is particularly successful, with its baritone acoustic guitar accompanied by spare piano. But Acoustic Guitar Moods offers little more, as its reliance on synthesizers only becomes more jarring, robbing the listener of any relaxation that might have been derived from the recording.
