Three things are remarkable about Accordion Magic. One, that the accordion can indeed be a swing instrument, as Tito had proved earlier. Two, that in addition to accordion, the Swingtet includes vibes; the combination works well. Three, that all the tunes are fairly equal. Despite such Raymond Scott-ish titles as "Opus for a Squeeze Box," "Portrait of a Gooney Bird," and "Nightmare of a Termite," the album is evenly good, an interesting curiosity (especially for accordion fans), but non-essential.
