Craig Harris, who had spent two years playing with Sun Ra's Arkestra, is a very advanced and generally original trombonist. On his debut as a leader, Harris doubles on the Australian didjeridu. His septet on this set is filled with like-minded players including avant-garde veteran Ken McIntyre (switching between alto, flute and bass clarinet) and pianist/vocalist Donald Smith. Harris's six originals feature all the members of the group on a program of challenging material that rewards repeated listenings.
