AllMusic Review by

Collectors or devotees of the band should note that 2005's Tribute to Nirvana is actually a hodgepodge of tracks that already appeared on previous collections, including World's Greatest Tribute to Nirvana and Smells Like Bleach: A Punk Tribute to Nirvana. While everything on Tribute to Nirvana has been previously released, it does have a few highlights. Burning Brides reduce "Something in the Way" to an agonizing crawl, and at that pace the lyrics are made more resonant, while U.K. Subs and Blanks 77 turn "Stay Away" and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" into weird versions of 1980s Brit rock. (In other words, they sound curiously like New Model Army.)
