AllMusic Review by

IAJRC, the superb collector's label, issued this single LP, full of rare studio recordings and concert performances from a wide assortment of groups, all of them featuring the distinctive clarinet of Pee Wee Russell. Whether heard with The Charleston Chasers in 1927, with Red McKenzie, Louis Prima, Bobby Hackett, Teddy Wilson or "in concert" with Eddie Condon, Russell is in fine form. An extra bonus is an ad-lib blues from the 1964 Monterey Jazz Festival shared with baritonist Gerry Mulligan.
