AllMusic Review by

All three LPs in this series feature obscure jazz and hot dance bands from the 1927-32 period so these releases are highly recommended to collector's of early jazz who want to get beyond only hearing the most famous names. Hoagy Carmichael heads a group for three songs (including the earliest recorded version of "Star Dust" which is here taken as an uptempo instrumental) before The Emil Seidel, Johnny Burris and Howard Thomas Orchestras are featured. The Burris band would soon be reorganized as The Casa Loma Orchestra.
